The introductory DVD.... VAQUERO as seen on NBC TV in DVD format. This is the documentary that launched The Vaquero Series.....
$15.95.
 NEW Houlihan
As the buckaroos brought cattle up from the Great Basin, Texas punchers brought longhorns up the Goodnight Loving Trail. The two cultures met in Wyoming/Montana territory and the Northern Range Cowboy was born. To make a hand here, you must be able to ride rough horses with plenty of buck in em’ and stick it out through long, cold winters. Houlihan takes you on the next leg of the Vaquero Trail and introduces you to a whole different breed of cowboy. $19.95
Tapdero
With their slick-fork saddles and silver spade bits, the Californio Vaqueros still trail cattle through the golden California hills. Meet the men and women who work the ranches and carry the tradition forward — stalwarts like Ernie Morris, the descendants of expert horsemen Bill and Tom Dorrance, and the young folks who are reviving the vaquero traditions. From the hackamore, to the two-rein, to straight up in the bridle, see how they make a horse as fluid as silk. Learn their secrets to braiding the rawhide reata and throwing the figure eight. These videos are filled with great cowboy music, Ian Tyson, Dave Stamey, Christina Ortega and Mike Beck! Approximately 82 minutes. $19.95
The Remuda
In a remote Nevada cow camp, they jingle in the remuda. There’s a chill in the air, and steam rises up off the horses’ backs. The jigger boss’s rope whistles through the air, expertly landing on target. A buckaroo picks up a horse, halters and leads him to the corral. It’s a ritual that seems almost choreographed, but to a buckaroo, it’s just part of another day, an outgrowth of a tradition that goes back 300 years, to the original Californio Vaqueros. This is the story of how it began in Alta California, moved into the Great Basin country of Nevada and Oregon, and shaped one of the world’s greatest horse cultures. In The Remuda, you’ll get a first-hand look at what this buckaroo life is all about, even get a front row seat at the Jordan Valley Big Loop Rodeo, where they rope wild horses with a twenty foot loop. And when the buckaroos come down California’s Tejon Ranch for an old- fashioned roping contest, you’ll get a vivid reminder of where it all began. The documentary is underscored by the original music of Ian Tyson, Dave Stamey, Mike Beck and Pedro Marquez. Approximately 90 minutes. $19.95

Holo Holo Paniolo
Holo holo in Hawaiian means to get around. And that’s what the filmmakers do, holo holo you to many of the ranches across 5 islands The Hawaiian cowboys inherited a rich history, originating with the vaqueros of Alta California, when it was still part of Mexico. The vaqueros were held in such high regard that in 1833, King Kamehameha sent for three of them to teach his people how to rope and ride and catch the wild cattle. This task was not for the faint of heart. The wild cattle that inhabited the volcanic slopes of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea, were chased down (sometimes in the dead of night), roped and tied to trees. The next morning, the paniolo would untie the snorting bull, snub him to his saddle horn and “lead him” down the mountain. Needless to say, it demanded great horsemanship and uncommon bravery. This courage under fire is the birthright of the paniolo and prevails to this day. Highlighting the story is the music. From the vaqueros’ Spanish guitars, the paniolo created the slack key guitar style. The melodic, silky strains are interwoven throughout this enriching, sometimes amusing, and very engaging film. Over 90 minutes, $19.95

Wrango Hackamore featured in the December 2007 issue of Western Horseman, page 137.............BACK in STOCK!!!
Our design is made with a latigo leather headstall, ultra blu poly wrapped noseband, poly fiadore and spun poly double braid rein. For training a colt who has been started in a halter, to have a sturdy hackamore to use in between snaffle bit sessions, as a loping hackamore or riding hackamore and can still be used as a halter. The noseband is not as heavy or stiff as a rawhide bosal.
The headstall is adjustable; another wrap can be taken with the rein to make the noseband smaller. The rein pictured in Western Horseman is 17' solid braid, tied on the noseband to make an 8' split rein. Currently we are using a 1/2inch 22 foot mecate double braid poly with a spun casing. It is has a softer easy grip. It has a lot of life and perfect weight for this noseband.
$93.50, hackamore only $60.00.
NOTE: If you need a training hackamore that is traditional in the progression from a heavy three quarter size down to smaller size and weight, you may want to invest in a rawhide bosal and horsehair rein.Call 316 745.0043 or 316.621.0600 for more info...

Below is the crew that came with the new house we bought, tried to make 'em barn cats, but noooo, they decided they wanted to be porch cats! All of our critters are strays or rescues, gelded, spayed or neutered, too fat and loved on a lot!!!
Smudge Mom a tortoise shell calico, but better resembles a black cat who got tangled up in a can of paint!
